rich, i totally agree. look at "snatch" and "lock stock & two smoking barrels" ... yes i know brad pitt was in the former but he played an irish dude. those are probably two of the most complicated movies i've ever seen. but bloody brilliant. and "la femme nikita" is excellent, as is "the professional" (aka "Leon"), both done by the same director. all you need is a non-american director.

Not only that, but the plots seem less "dumbed down" when they're not aimed at an american audiance.
